Check out this drone photo!

Our very own Bellevue State Park is one of the lucky parks to have a nesting structure on the side of the bluff. If you haven't already, next time you visit the Nelson Unit, take a look up near the entrance. One of our birds is back for the summer!
A brief history on the nesting box at Bellevue from our Park Manager, Elli Lineburg:
Successful tagging last occurred in 2016. Since then the box has housed a few mating pairs, but the last 5 years has been the same pair, and unfortunately, their nests have experienced predation on numerous occasions. Year 2023 was the closest staff came to being able to band chicks again, but, again, chicks fell victim to predation -- the day before the banding crew was to arrive.
Fingers crossed for a successful 2025 nesting year!!!
