Park Overview

Bellevue State Park is located just south of Bellevue, IA in the bluffs along the Mississippi River. The park has camping, hiking, and many beautiful views. Bellevue State Park is broken into two different tracts. The Nelson Unit is located just south of Bellevue, IA atop a limestone bluff, while the Dyas Unit is located 2 miles farther south, down Highway 52. Both units host multiple picnic areas and hiking trails that lead to scenic overlooks of the Mississippi River. The Nelson Unit boasts a butterfly sanctuary that attracts over 60 different species of butterflies throughout the state. The Nelson Unit also has a lodge that can be rented out for special events. The Dyas Unit has 52 electric and non-electric camp sites that can be reserved online or by stopping at the Dyas Unit for in person reservations.

Enjoy a stay at The Dyas Unit Campground offering electric and non-electric sites, as well as shower facilities.

Firewood is offered for sale at the campground and directly supports projects and updates within Bellevue State Park.
